Can you imagine being on the road and suddenly discovering two strangers in the back seat of your car? And they refuse to get out, at least not before you have given them a lift? But a lift where? What if a game is taken too far and a short adventure becomes much too long?

Dorota Masłowska’s play takes an ironic look on gaps between different classes of society. It’s a comical road trip through the reality of post-communist Eastern Europe, making fun in a way that in the end nobody feels like laughing.

Dorota Masłowska (born 1983) is an award-winning Polish writer and journalist. Her brilliant career began with her first novel that she wrote in the age of nineteen. Masłowska’s writings, characterised by a unique use of language, have received all the major literary awards in Poland. Her play has been translated into a dozen languages.
